Slowly but surely, she began to recover. She was able to stand and lean on her injured leg, and have been eating normally. One month after the surgery, you wouldn’t recognize the poor injured dog who had one of the most terrifying wounds that the rescue team had ever seen.

With medical care, love and patience showered on this stray dog, Selene, the name given to her by the rescue team blossomed into a sweet and beautiful girl. She now loves being around the people who cared for her, enjoys being pet, kissed and cuddled as much as she loves giving them back.

She may have to limp a bit in order to walk and move around, but that doesn’t stop her from living smiling at life. She would always stop for a kiss and a hug from the lovely humans who never gave up on her, always returning the favor with that sweet smile.

We don’t need to be rich just to help feed and take care of these helpless animals. We just need a helping hand, an empathic heart and a will to help to make a small difference – big enough to change a life.
