As soon as she says “okay” the pup races off to greet the bus at the bus stop just two houses down. Several children get off the bus, but he waits for his best friend. When a little boy gets off the bus, the pup jumps up and down for joy and even takes his backpack from him in his mouth so that he can carry it home for him. The dog and little boy run together toward the house, the dog still with the backpack in his mouth. They both make it to the front door of their home and the dog drops the backpack. The little boy runs out to pick it up and the two gallivant inside for an afternoon of fun together.

This video truly shows the unique relationship between dogs and children and it shows that dogs are much smarter than we often give them credit for. In fact, for a dog to be smart enough to be trained to sit still until given the “go ahead” command from his owner as he waits patiently for something he so desperately wants is a marvel. This little boy is lucky to have a pup best friend who loves him so much and who he can love all of his childhood and into his adulthood years.
