The family is not allowed from seeing their two-years-old pet. To say they were anguished is not enough to describe how they feel. Hanks has been with them since he was a puppy, and their bond is just incredible. But that doesn’t matter, because according to the law, Hanks was illegal. Since then, his family has no idea of his whereabouts.
Collins and his family are very much concerned about Hanks since their pet dog has a skin condition. Without proper care, it could very much flare up again. What’s even worse is that Hank could be put down, as it is legal in Ireland, without ever seeing his family.

They are fighting for their Hanks in court, hoping to be with him again. Their fear is growing each day, and as the days pass by, they are dreading this would end in a lost battle. Hank’s family fear about Hanks having to suffer the same faith as other dogs who had to be put down because of the same reason.

Again, why do such laws exist? If a dog has never been aggressive, had no history of biting or hurting anyone, why do they need to ban them? Is it really for public safety? But why does it have to be dependent on the breed? So many questions, yet we are not satisfied with the answers. There have been many cases like this, but the question stands. Do such laws have an impact on actual attacks made by man’s best friend?
