Lilo The Husky The Story of an Unlikely Friendship

The tiny kitten couldn’t have been much older than two or three weeks when she was rescued from the street in San Jose, California.

Her human rescuer, Thoa Bui, tried everything she could think of to get the frail little cat to eat. The kitten was so weak she just wouldn’t take to the bottle. She barely responded to any stimulus at all. It seemed as though she would not survive the night.
Just when it seemed that nothing could save this little creature, an unlikely surrogate mother took charge. No one was more surprised than Thoa.
This adoptive mom is named Lilo and she is a Siberian Husky.
Siberian Huskies are not known to be particularly fond of cats. But something in Rosie brought the mother out in Lilo. She seemed to know exactly what to do. The big dog gently curled up with Rosie snuggled between her large paws.
After Lilo cuddled Rosie and kept her safe and warm for a couple of hours, Rosie began to perk up.
The woman that had rescued her, Thoa Bui, made another attempt to feed Rosie. Finally, after it had seemed like all hope was lost, Rosie began to nurse from the bottle.
Lilo mothered Rosie as if she were her own pup. Making a little den for her and doing everything a mother dog (or mother cat) would do to raise a puppy (or kitten).
