This Old Pup Is Heartbroken When Her Family Chooses Younger Dog And Leaves Her Behind

While it is understandable that a family may fail to pay for the medical care their pets need, yet one must wonder what is to happen to the dog when it is abandoned at a time when they are not really suitable for adoption.

Not many pet lovers would want to take an old dog home. Most want to adopt young pups. The younger they are, more desirable they are. Fortunately for Cookie, the shelter stepped up and took the decision to care for her.
Cookie was extremely sad when the retriever was taken back home and she was left all by herself. As she watched her family leave, she couldn’t have been more heartbroken. To make matters worse, she was diagnosed with several cancerous tumors, many of which have since been removed through surgery and some are yet to be removed.
The ageing animals or the incurable dogs are often euthanized. Cookie has not met that fate. She is being taken care of and all medical attention other than love, affection and hands-on pampering are being ensured by the staff at the shelter.
