One reporter’s account of the farm that was recently shut down makes for a pretty harrowing read. These farms present dogs that have been taken to the very limits of cruelty. They are abused, beaten, starved, and neglected to the absolute extreme. I have to admit that I had a pretty hard time looking at some the photos that were included with the story.

But there was a silver lining of sorts. The reporter concludes their long account of the experience by describing an encounter with a dog named Pocket. They were able to give Pocket their first few moments of true love and affection. Not surprisingly, the dog was completely transformed by this extraordinary moment in time. His life began that day.
